Hope Shine Uganda is a Christ-centered organization rooted in the heart of Kampala’s Namuwongo community, dedicated to equiping mothers and caregivers with the tools they need to build stable, self-sufficient futures for their families. Their holistic approach addresses immediate needs like food, medical care, and shelter, while also investing in the deeper work of transformation through discipleship, education, and economic empowerment. At the core of everything Hope Shine does is a profound belief in restoring dignity, strengthening families, and cultivating resilient communities anchored in faith and hope.
Mission: To empower vulnerable women and children to break the cycle of poverty and become self-sustaining
Key Programs:
- Certified vocational school & empowerment center teaching trades like hairdressing, tailoring, soap making, and business skills along while being discipled.
- Monthly food distributions; about 600 food bags a month to feed families living in urban slums.
- Medical care for expecting mothers and students — includes prenatal screenings, illness checks (e.g. UTIs, malaria), and distribution of mama kits.
- Esther House, a transitional home that shelters vulnerable teenage mothers & their children for one year, with counseling, discipleship, vocational training, and support toward independent living.
- Night Life Workers Outreach; regular outreach to girls involved in survival sex work; monthly meetings with support, prayer, food, and pathways toward safer and dignified living.
