FINANCIAL INTEGRITY

Your Money Makes a Real Difference

We know it’s important to you that your

donations are used effectively.

It’s important to us, too.

FINANCIAL INTEGRITY AND GOOD STEWARDSHIP

Engage Hope is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to financial accountability with our donors and participants.

Your donations make a difference daily in the lives of the ministries and families we serve.  We know you have many choices about where to invest your Kingdom dollars.  We take your generosity seriously because we understand you want your contribution to have the most significant impact.  Our goals are the same.

The majority of our funding equips, educates, and empowers the ministries we serve.  When you designate a gift to a specific initiative or child, if the donation is via credit card, 98.8% goes directly to the initiative selected.  If you donate by check, 100% goes to the chosen initiative.  For all Sponsor-a-Child donations, we send 90% of your sponsor donation to the ministry partner working directly with your child.  All child sponsor donations are sent together, either monthly or quarterly, to that ministry partner.  The ministry partner uses the donations to cover its operating expenses and expenses associated with the sponsored children.  The ministry partner does not track the costs on a child-by-child basis but assures that each sponsored child can attend school, receive adequate nutrition, receive primary medical care, and wear a uniform if the sponsor has donated funds for uniforms.

Two of our staff are paid part-time, with two full-time paid employees.  Staff members are on the ground in Uganda several times yearly.

Your confidence in our work is critical to us. We want you to know that we view you as partners.  We’ve established stringent accounting and financial reporting policies, procedures, and accountability standards to ensure your gifts have the maximum impact.

Your sponsorship contributions and designated donations are pooled and transferred directly to our Ministry Partners.  We work with a Ugandan CPA who helps provide financial oversight and support for our Ugandan ministry partners.  We will withhold all payments if a Ministry Partner does not adhere to our accountability standards.

Doug Fair, Engage Hope President, and other staff members visit Ministry Partners frequently to perform detailed reviews of facilities and operations.  Our tax returns are available in the section below.  Also, we are an open book if any donor has questions about how money is spent. Please contact us at info@engagehope.org with any questions or concerns.

Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability

Engage Hope received accreditation from the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability in 2020

Founded 40 years ago by Billy Graham and other evangelical leaders, ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) has grown from a visionary and faithful group of 150 charter members to over 2,400 leading churches and ministries across the United States today.

ECFA enhances trust in Christ-centered churches and ministries through its annual accreditation of organizations based on Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship, drawn from Scripture.

ECFA serves as a financial accountability partner to ministries who voluntarily seek accreditation and continue to faithfully demonstrate their commitment to ECFA’s high standards. The standards are set at an appropriately high level to provide the essential guardrails for financial integrity in churches and ministries of all sizes. While admittedly the standards do not address every potential issue or challenge an organization may encounter, they have stood the test of time in helping thousands of churches and ministries enhance trust and become better stewards of their God-given resources.
