Develop a Child Africa Ministries (DACAM) is a Christ-centered nonprofit founded in 2011 and rooted in the heart of Kampala, Uganda. DACAM walks alongside vulnerable families and children across three distinct communities: the Katoogo Slum near Gaba, Kyagwe Mukono across Lake Victoria, and Lugazi Kasokoso east of Kampala. DACAM became an Engage Hope Ministry Partner in 2018.
Mission: To bring hope and salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ by providing care for vulnerable children and families.
Vision: To create self-sustaining Christ-centered communities by developing vulnerable children and families.
DACAM brings holistic care and lasting hope by providing school fees, urgent medical assistance, food support, clothing, vocational training, and Christian counseling. At the heart of everything they do is a commitment to discipleship, sharing the Gospel with both adults and children while equipping families with the practical tools needed to build stable, self-sufficient lives. Today, the ministry supports approximately 200 families and more than 500 children.
