Airline Mile Donations

Donate your miles and make an impact! Simply log in to your airline’s loyalty program, select the “Donate Miles” option, and choose a charity from the list. Most programs require donations in 1,000-mile increments, so even a small donation can go a long way. It’s an easy way to put unused miles to work and help those in need. While we don’t have donation instructions for every airline or organization, here’s a quick overview for American, United, and Delta:

American Airlines

American Airlines AAdvantage members, donating your miles is simple:

  1. Log In: Visit AA.com and sign in to your AAdvantage account.
  2. Access Donation Section: Navigate to the “Donate Miles” (or “Miles of Hope”) option in your account dashboard.
  3. Select a Partner: Choose from the list of approved charities—donations are made in 1,000-mile increments.
  4. Enter Details: Specify how many miles you’d like to donate (minimum 1,000 miles) and review your selection.
  5. Confirm Donation: Submit your donation and keep the confirmation for your records.

 

United Airlines

United Airlines MileagePlus members, here’s how to donate your miles:

  1. Log In: Visit united.com and sign into your MileagePlus account.
  2. Navigate to the Donation Section: Go to the MileagePlus Service Center where you can find the “Donate Miles” option.
  3. Select Your Charity: Choose from the list of eligible charities (donations are typically made in 1,000-mile increments).
  4. Enter the Donation Amount: Specify the number of miles you’d like to donate (minimum 1,000 miles).
  5. Confirm Your Donation: Review and confirm your donation.

Delta Airlines

Delta SkyMiles members, donating miles is straightforward via the SkyWish program:

  1. Log In: Sign in to your Delta account on Delta.com.
  2. Access SkyWish: Navigate to the SkyMiles section and locate the “SkyWish” donation option.
  3. Choose a Charity: Select from the list of participating charities (donations are usually in 1,000-mile increments).
  4. Enter Donation Details: Specify the number of miles you’d like to donate.
  5. Confirm Your Donation: Review and submit your donation.
