Good Samaritan Ministries

Good Samaritan Ministries sits in Uganda’s Kyotera District, one of the most remote and impoverished corners of the country. Over 20 years ago, Pastor Sserwanja Josham chose to plant a seed of hope. With thousands of children in the region orphaned by war and the HIV epidemic, Pastor Josham founded Nambiriizi Good Samaritan Christian School to reach the children others had left behind. His son, Kagawa Moses, who holds the distinction of being the school’s very first student, now leads the institution his father built. Adjacent to the school, Pastor Josham also leads Miracle Center Church, weaving faith and community together at the heart of the ministry. Good Samaritan became an Engage Hope Ministry Partner in 2011.

Mission: To Transform the community through Christian education, empowering of young people with skills and sharing of love of Christ with all.

Cross Healing Ministries

The Cross Healing Ministries is a Christian non-governmental organization (NGO) operating in the Lamwo district of far northern Uganda near the South Sudanese border. This region was devastated by the war with Joseph Kony and the Lord’s Resistance Army, and hundreds of families were displaced and left in severe poverty. Pastor Odong George founded The Cross Healing Ministries to extend hope and care to individuals in Lamwo affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty, drug abuse, domestic violence, and divorce. Cross Healing became an Engage Hope Ministry Partner in 2013.

Key Programs:

• Christian School – To meet the needs of at-risk children in the region, The Cross Healing Ministries established The Cross Healing Primary School. There, over 200 children receive a quality Christian education, providing them a place to grow both academically and spiritually.
• Sponsor-a-Child — Through Engage Hope, U.S. donors can sponsor children at Side by Side Ministries, providing Christian education, a daily meal, minor medical care, and life skills training.

Revival Outreach Ministries

Revival Outreach Ministries, led by Pastor Margaret Bakashaba, is a beacon of hope for vulnerable children and families in Kabale, Uganda. Rooted in a desire to make the love of Christ tangible, the ministry provides orphaned, homeless, and at-risk children with the essentials they need to flourish: shelter, education, medical care, nourishment, and spiritual discipleship. In addition, the ministry reaches into surrounding villages through active evangelism and church planting, strengthening entire communities through the transforming power of the Gospel. Revival Outreach Ministries became an Engage Hope Ministry Partner in 2014.

Central Baptist Church Ministries

Central Baptist Church Ministries in Wakiso, Uganda, is led by Pastor Frederick Kaddu Kibuuka, a lifelong member of the community he now serves. The church exists to see members of the community believe, change, and commit themselves to practicing the righteousness of God by the impact of salvation. The ministry reflects this through a deep commitment to restoring hope and opportunity for vulnerable children and families.

Mission: To draw people to Christ through Christ-like acts of kindness and service and to help people live overcoming and victorious daily Christian lives—making disciples. 

Vision: To be a major and measurable force by creating experiences of inspiration of Jesus Christ that warm the heart and touches the soul and make us all that God really wants us to be.

Key Programs:

• Christian Schools – In response to the needs of orphaned and at-risk youth in the region, Central Baptist Church Ministries established Wakiso Senior Secondary School and Rays of Hope Primary School. These Christian schools provide quality education in a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring that no child is turned away due to financial hardship. Many students receive scholarships and are given opportunities to develop practical skills while pursuing their education.
• Sponsor-a-Child – Through Engage Hope, U.S. donors can sponsor children at Central Baptist Church Ministries, providing Christian education, a daily meal, minor medical care, and life skills training.
• Children’s Homes – Central Baptist Church Ministries also operates Girls Restoration Home and Daughters of Zion, which provides a safe, stable environment for young girls rescued from vulnerable circumstances. At the homes, girls receive education, discipleship, life-skills training, medical care, and spiritual mentorship, equipping them for independent and Christ-centered futures.

Side by Side Ministries

Side by Side Ministries serves children and families in Bethlehem, a community nestled in Uganda’s Kyotera District. Years of conflict and the HIV epidemic left deep wounds across this region, orphaning countless children and leaving many families without a foundation of stability. Side by Side was founded in response, bringing hope through Christian education, discipleship, and holistic care for the whole community.

Engage Hope has partnered with Side by Side Ministries since 2010, walking alongside their leadership to strengthen what they’ve built and expand what’s possible. Together, they have invested in classroom construction, dormitories, water and sanitation improvements, teacher development, and essential resources that enrich both learning and daily life, ensuring that every child has not just a place to study, but a place to truly belong

• Christian School – At the heart of Side by Side Ministries’ work is the Bethlehem Side by Side Wisdom Center Primary School, which offers Christ-centered education to more than 500 students, equipping them academically, spiritually, and socially for a stronger future.

African Hearts Community Organisation

African Hearts Community Organisation is a Christian NGO based in Uganda, East Africa. Founded in 2001, African Hearts began as a grassroots response to the growing crisis of children living on the streets of Kampala, many driven there by the loss of parents, family breakdown, violence, or hardship at home. Street life exposes these children to exploitation, abuse, addiction, and extreme poverty. In 2010, African Hearts became Engage Hope’s first Ugandan ministry partner, and the two organizations have walked closely together ever since.

Mission: To equip and protect children through sharing the love of Christ, so they become vibrant, confident, and secure individuals.

Vision: Every child thriving in their God-given potential, causing positive change in society.

Key Programs: 

• African Hearts Junior School – Serving over 500 boarding and day students, the school provides a holistic education including spiritual support, two daily meals, school supplies, healthcare, and extracurricular activities such as dance, music, chess, and sports.
• Sponsor-a-Child – Through Engage Hope, U.S. donors can sponsor children in African Hearts Community Organisation, providing Christian education, a daily meal, minor medical care, and life skills training.
• Daily Slum Feeding – Each day, African Hearts feeds 80–120 boys in Kisenyi Slum, sharing the gospel, teaching basic literacy, and providing minor medical care. Engage Hope funds daily meals and medical and dental procedures for the boys.
• Transition Home – A residential home in Ssenge housing up to 16 former street boys rescued from Kisenyi Slum. Boys receive shelter, food, education, discipleship, and support to reintegrate into society before transitioning into the African Hearts Junior School. Engage Hope funds the home’s monthly operations.
• Hummingbird House – Girls in the slums are often sexually exploited from as young as 12. Hummingbird House rescues these young women, offering them a safe home, schooling, and vocational skills for self-sufficiency. Engage Hope covers monthly rent and operational costs.

Passion Christian Ministries

Passion Christian Ministries was born out of a deeply personal calling. Founder Babi Kasadha Emmanuel (Emma) felt compelled to reach young pregnant girls facing the weight of an unplanned pregnancy, offering counsel, compassion, and a reason to choose life. What began as a small medical clinic has since grown into a thriving, Christ-centered ministry touching the lives of mothers, children, students, and entire communities across Uganda. Engage Hope partnered with Passion Christian Ministries in 2011 and has continued to expand its support across the ministry’s growing areas of impact.

Mission: Our mission is to share the love of Christ by meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable individuals and communities. We strive to empower people out of poverty through education, health care, agriculture, and sustainable solutions, transforming lives for a better future.

Vision: Our vision is to see a thriving, Christ-centered society where individuals and communities are empowered, self-reliant, and filled with hope.

Key Programs:

• Passion Christian High School — A Christ-centered secondary school offering quality academic education under the Ugandan curriculum, paired with spiritual discipleship that prepares students to become Godly leaders.
• Sponsor-a-Child — Through Engage Hope, U.S. donors can sponsor children at Passion Christian Ministries, providing Christian education, a daily meal, minor medical care, and life skills training.
• Mama Kits Program — Safe-delivery kits distributed to expectant mothers so they can give birth in clean, safe conditions, reducing maternal and infant mortality in the villages we serve.
• Care Medical Centre — A community health facility offering affordable medical care, maternal health services, counseling, and health outreach to vulnerable mothers, children, and families.
• Healing Hope Nutrition Program (Malnutrition Clinic) — A specialized clinic that rescues, treats, and rehabilitates severely malnourished children through therapeutic feeding, medical care, and follow-up support for their families.

Develop a Child Africa Ministries (DACAM)

Develop a Child Africa Ministries (DACAM) is a Christ-centered nonprofit founded in 2011 and rooted in the heart of Kampala, Uganda. DACAM walks alongside vulnerable families and children across three distinct communities: the Katoogo Slum near Gaba, Kyagwe Mukono across Lake Victoria, and Lugazi Kasokoso east of Kampala. DACAM became an Engage Hope Ministry Partner in 2018.

Mission: To bring hope and salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ by providing care for vulnerable children and families.

Vision: To create self-sustaining Christ-centered communities by developing vulnerable children and families.

DACAM brings holistic care and lasting hope by providing school fees, urgent medical assistance, food support, clothing, vocational training, and Christian counseling. At the heart of everything they do is a commitment to discipleship, sharing the Gospel with both adults and children while equipping families with the practical tools needed to build stable, self-sufficient lives. Today, the ministry supports approximately 200 families and more than 500 children.

Hope Shine Uganda

Hope Shine Uganda is a Christ-centered organization rooted in the heart of Kampala’s Namuwongo community, dedicated to equiping mothers and caregivers with the tools they need to build stable, self-sufficient futures for their families. Their holistic approach addresses immediate needs like food, medical care, and shelter, while also investing in the deeper work of transformation through discipleship, education, and economic empowerment. At the core of everything Hope Shine does is a profound belief in restoring dignity, strengthening families, and cultivating resilient communities anchored in faith and hope.

Mission: To empower vulnerable women and children to break the cycle of poverty and become self-sustaining

Key Programs: 

• Certified vocational school & empowerment center teaching trades like hairdressing, tailoring, soap making, and business skills along while being discipled.
• Monthly food distributions; about 600 food bags a month to feed families living in urban slums.
• Medical care for expecting mothers and students — includes prenatal screenings, illness checks (e.g. UTIs, malaria), and distribution of mama kits.
• Esther House, a transitional home that shelters vulnerable teenage mothers & their children for one year, with counseling, discipleship, vocational training, and support toward independent living.
• Night Life Workers Outreach; regular outreach to girls involved in survival sex work; monthly meetings with support, prayer, food, and pathways toward safer and dignified living.
