Namagembe Promise

Promise is a 16-year-old girl whose name speaks to the hope her sponsors and caregivers hold for her future. She grew up in a home where her family earns their living by brewing and selling local alcohol, an environment marked by poverty, instability, and significant risk. The male clients who frequented her family's business posed a serious and direct threat to her safety, placing her in dangerous situations that no young girl should ever face.

Through the compassionate intervention of caring adults and the ministry of Central Baptist, Promise was rescued from those dangers and now lives in a safe and supportive environment — away from the threats she once faced. She is at a critical point in her educational journey, and her caregivers are praying and working diligently to ensure she is able to continue her studies without fear.
