Joshua was referred to African Hearts Community Organization by police after being abandoned and left alone in the house with his three siblings. Their mother, who was their primary caregiver, suffered a mental breakdown and disappeared, leaving the children to fend for themselves. With no adult support, Joshua and his siblings survived by fetching water for people in their community in exchange for small payments. Unfortunately, there was no one to support their education.
Despite these difficult circumstances, Joshua is a bright and promising boy who is eager to return to school. He is determined to pursue his dreams if given the opportunity.
