African Hearts

Engage Hope began partnering with African Hearts in 2010.  African Hearts Community Organization (AfriHCO) is a community-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Uganda. AfriHCO was started in 2001 with the aim of working with orphaned and vulnerable young people to improve their safety and physical, spiritual and emotional health and future well-being.

The organization's target population is children who are living on the street, many of whom have been orphaned by HIV or abandoned or victimized by family violence. The organization currently operates two homes housing former street children in Ssenge. Children living in these homes are taught the Bible and are provided with shelter, food, love and education.
